2011 CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Once again, exciting events are planned for the year 2011 “Great” INTERNATIONAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BATHTUB RACE & Nanaimo Marine Festival which takes place July 21st to July 24th 2011. This years’ Salute is to the “100TH Anniversary of the ST. JOHNS AMBULANCE NANAIMO BRIGADE”..
July is Marine Festival & Bathtub month and activities take place throughout the entire city and in all the malls and businesses. The official kickoff takes place on Thursday with the opening of the 4 day Marine Festival Food Fare & Kiddies Karnival & Harbourside Playdock along with the TIM HORTON’S Marine Festival Entertainment Stage at Maffeo Sutton Park, Swy-a-lana Lagoon and the new Spirit Square on the waterfront. Saturday kicks off with the Sail Past on Wheels Fun Parade sponsored by Woodgrove Center at 10:30 am starting in the “Old City Quarter” through “Downtown Nanaimo” and Saturday evening Quality Foods' Festival of Lights & Music Fireworks Display, (Vancouver Islands largest) leading up to the “Great” RACE on Sunday, July 24th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. just to mention a few of the many activities throughout the community.
Last year's festival was a huge success, thanks to the volunteers and businesses which supported the CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP programs. The events attracted crowds of over 20,000 people on Friday and Saturday nights and it more than 10,000 people watched the Finish at Departure Bay of the 45th annual “Great” INTERNATIONAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BATHTUB RACE on Sunday morning and then enjoyed the other planned activities all day long making the Nanaimo Marine Festival a memorable one.
No other festival or organization in Nanaimo has ever matched the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BATHTUB RACE & Nanaimo Marine Festival's success in providing international recognition and world wide attention for the City of Nanaimo as well as providing world class entertainment for the citizens and tourists alike and an affordable advertising opportunity for Nanaimo businesses.

With the Nanaimo Marine Festival receiving no direct financial assistance from the City of Nanaimo, the Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Society relies very heavily on the CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP program to assist with the operating cost of putting on the festival each year. Please take the time and fill in the attached membership form and send it along with your cheque for $150.00 as soon as
possible to be involved in our advertising and promotion packages and to receive your 2011 CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP wall plaque and Bathtub Race Poster as well as recognition in the 2009 Marine Festival Program which has great coverage & shelf life..

The Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Society meets the first Wednesday of every month at the Bathtub Office, located at 373 Franklyn Street, at 6:00 P.M. We need your input and new ideas from making the existing events better and to suggest new ideas. We can always use more volunteers to help in the organizing and co-ordination of the various events of the Nanaimo Marine Festival. If you have any special talents, or ideas, bring them along to our next meeting and bring a friend everyone is welcome.
By working together, we can continue to keep the "Great" INTERNATIONAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BATHTUB RACE & Nanaimo Marine Festival the major attraction it has grown to be and making our community the envy of other city in British Columbia and even Canada.
